Meet the team

Meet your local Healthwatch team members.

Staff

Carolynne joined us in 2017, initially as a volunteer, to assist the engagement team with data inputting and quality checking of Enter & View reports. 

She has now taken on the part-time role of Administrator to provide more comprehensive support to the whole team whilst still volunteering with us as an Authorised Representative for Enter & View.

She brings many years of administration experience from the Private, Public and Health & Social Care Sectors. She also has a background of Nursing and Care.

Dave Crosthwaite

Dave is now an experienced member of the team having a varied background having served in the Army before joining the Police service until retirement. He then worked within Cheshire West and Chester Council before joining Healthwatch.

Dave has a vast experience of working with all strands of the community having worked as a recruiter and community engagement officer.  He intends to provide opportunity for all volunteers to get the best out of volunteering.

Emma joins the Healthwatch Team with a breadth of experience having previously worked as Senior Administrator for both Cheshire West and Cheshire East LINk.

Emma has a strong and varied background in business administration and has worked for a number of companies in our local area.

At the ‘hub’ of our organisation, Emma ensures our office runs smoothly and efficiently with smiles.

George is responsible for communications and research, helping to spread the Healthwatch message throughout Cheshire.

As a former Town Councillor, he understands the needs of the local area and can help to translate people’s experiences of health and social care into the wider health policy picture, drawing on experience in the constituency and parliamentary offices of two Members of Parliament.

In the past, George has also worked to help businesses and organisations to engage with local communities and stakeholders in order to improve services and develop new infrastructure projects that benefit local people.

Jackie Lewis

Jackie is very much a people person and has always worked within the local Community. Managing a Neighbourhood building in Winsford for a number of years, then developing Cheshire Neighbours Credit Union across Cheshire training and supporting volunteers to enable them to take control of the Credit Union before coming to LINk in 2009 as a Community, Engagement Worker before moving into Healthwatch Cheshire West  in April which involves:

  • Creating a strong community presence and local awareness of Healthwatch Cheshire West
  • Co-ordinate and deliver Healthwatch Cheshire West communications and information
  • Participate in the development of a programme of outreach work
  • Ensure that the views of local people, groups and organisations are fully represented by Healthwatch Cheshire West and reflect the diversity of the local population
  • Develop effective communication systems between Healthwatch Cheshire West and local communities to ensure the smooth flow of information and knowledge.

Jem joins Healthwatch bringing 25 years of service within both the Police and the Royal Air Force.  She has worked for over 10 years in neighbourhood policing, developing and delivering targeted community engagement plans alongside local Partners and Stakeholders.

Jem has worked with  Rochdale’s Safeguarding Board, Community Safety Teams, Early Help and local groups to deliver bespoke engagement to a variety of communities addressing their specific needs.

Katie has a breadth of experience working in the private, public and third sector, most recently working for Citizens Advice Cheshire West delivering training programmes and engaging with volunteers to support them to deliver a broad range of advice to the public.

She previously worked as a Public Health Improvement Specialist for both the NHS and Local Authority delivering initiatives with a primary focus on children and families’ health and wellbeing, whilst also being involved with projects across the public health agenda.

Katie has particular strengths in communication, engagement and training delivery working across the board with stakeholders, practitioners and the public.

Louise is the Chief Executive Officer of Healthwatch Cheshire East and Healthwatch Cheshire West.

Mark joined Healthwatch Cheshire as an Interim Service Lead in October 2018. His main responsibilities are managing and supporting the Engagement and Enter and View team, as well as supporting the CEO.

Mark has over 25 years management experience with local authorities. He has developed and managed several projects, and also been the local manager of a national charity with a wealth of volunteer management experience.

Mike joined Healthwatch as a Community Engagement and Project Officer in August 2018.

He brings with him many years’ experience in the private and third sectors, most recently working for the local Carers Trust and AgeUK here in Cheshire. He has particular strengths in networking, relationship management, influencing and communication, allowing him to engage with and support people at all levels.

A caring individual, Mike is keen to use the remainder of his career in ‘making a difference’ supporting individual and community health and wellbeing issues.

Neil Garbett

Neil previously led LINk’s teams in Cheshire West and Chester and Cheshire East and has worked for both Healthwatch Cheshire East and West. His experience includes community engagement and adult education working with vulnerable sections of the community in Vale Royal and previous to this, over 28 years of teaching and management experience in Primary Education. Neil has also great experience of working with many voluntary faith theatre and community groups.

Neil’s skill sets include organising events, working with people of varied backgrounds and ages, presenting and writing for different audiences. His role includes engagement, managing Enter and View activity, training and communications across the Healthwatch network.

Rachel joined Healthwatch Cheshire as Service Lead in June 2017. Her main responsibilities are managing and supporting the Engagement team and the Volunteer Coordinator as well as supporting the CEO at Strategic level.

Rachel has a varied experience from working in the fitness industry, to Health and Wellbeing for Older people and more recently managing a small team on an Early Intervention Health & Wellbeing project.

Ros Haynes

Ros joins Healthwatch, bringing over 25 years experience of working in local government to the team.

She has a wealth of experience having worked in education, children’s social care and adult social care. Her most recent focus has been children’s safeguarding working for the Local Safeguarding Children Board in Cheshire East.

Ros has worked closely with the community and voluntary sector to support them with safeguarding and understands the importance of engaging  with the community to shape and improve local health and social care services.
