Healthwatch Cheshire volunteers take part in safeguarding training and Integrated Care Partnership workshop

Healthwatch Cheshire staff and volunteers have taken part in a development day including safeguarding training and a health and care workshop.

The team was taken through Safeguarding Adults training by the Cheshire West and Chester Council safeguarding team which is invaluable especially as part of our Enter and View activity.

As part of a packed agenda, the afternoon saw the team participate in a workshop facilitated by the Cheshire West Integrated Care Partnership.

The aim of the workshop was staff and volunteers to gain a better understanding of the vision and priorities for joined up care, and what it means for the people of Cheshire.

Managing Director of the ICP, Alison Lee led an input around the vision and priorities, while Associate Director of Service Delivery Alison Swanton and Northwich Care Community Service Manager Linda Atkinson, who leads a team of 34 nursing staff, eight therapists and seven admin workers, explained the difference that integrated care is making to patients and staff on the ground.

The feedback provided by the Healthwatch team during the session will be incorporated into the planning and ongoing development of the ICP.
